Left or Right

In the space of two days I have been accused of being a lefty and a righty with my views.

A moment please ***** patting myself on the back ***** Take a deep breath, here I go.

Is that a big achievement? What am I really?
Do I have to be one or the other or can I hold beliefs in both sides?
Confused yet? I know I am.

So lets look at meanings according to Wikipedia

Left-wing politics supports social equality and egalitarianism, often in opposition to social hierarchy and social inequality. It typically involves a concern for those in society whom its adherents perceive as disadvantaged relative to others (prioritarianism), as well as a belief that there are unjustified inequalities that need to be reduced or abolished (by advocating for social justice). The term left wing can also refer to "the radical, reforming, or socialist section of a political party or system".
Right-wing politics hold that certain social orders and hierarchies are inevitable, natural, normal, or desirable, typically defending this position on the basis of natural law, economics or tradition. Hierarchy and inequality may be viewed as natural results of traditional social differences[10] or competition in market economies. The term right-wing can generally refer to "the conservative or reactionary section of a political party or system."

So do I believe humans are equal?  Yes I do.

In the outback I often someone use the line I own a station so I am so much better than you.  I hate seeing a group of people held accountable for the action of a few... I see it so often in religion (both christianity and islam).  The greyhound racing industry in NSW banned due to the practises of a small perscentage who need to be brought to justice.  I am not going on but you get the idea.

Do I believe we should disregard tradition?  Hell no.  I am a student of history and believe nothing can be rushed.  Traditions help keep social order and make people feel secure.  But that doesn't mean I don't think we can improve and get better and head towards a fairer society.

Just because my grandfather in a drought let the cattle die on the property because his grandfather before him did the same doesn't mean my father or myself need to do.  We could learn and try to do something different.  Something which would save the cattle and maybe even be a better business decision.

Am I reactionary?  No... i try not to get carried away and react to the fear-mongers.  That is the easy path.  I choose to learn even when it goes against my natural conservative instincts.

I guess you could say I am just me....

I love traditions and history.

I come from a conservative lifestyle.
I believe all people are equal.
Some social order is needed for society to function, a doctor and a farmer both equally important part of a society but I bet most people see doctors as a higher person in society.
I believe in live and let live.  My beliefs are no more or less valid than other peoples.
I love to learn and research and review my opinions because they do change.
Sometimes I can see the ideal reform but realise that society is not ready for it yet and I am not ready to change that much.

On another note... while I don't like all of Trumps policies as they may have a negative effect on Australia's business partners I do think he will add different dynamics to USA society and the world.  I also think he has no idea how hard it is working within the complex US political system where there is little party loyalty.  It certainly is not like running a company where what you say goes.  I also think that it will shake up the people to realise that you can not be apathetic in life.  If I was a US citizen I don't know if I would have voted either given the choices.  Clinton and Trump really only won 25% of the countries vote, the other 50% couldn't be bother turning up and registering.

We are lucky in Australia despite our whinging about our politicians they have manage to provide excellent education and healthcare services compared to other countries.  We don't have regular shootings on the street by someone just taking a gone to school or a gungho cop who has freaked out because of the colour of someone's skin.  We are mostly employed and housed in reasonable conditions.  We are extremely affluent and if you don't think that then go live in another country and see what you get.

Sorry for being lazy in posting but I have hardly any internet and work for a living

Blogger is annoying

So I finally got around to writing a blog on the tablet and then tried to load a photo on it ...... AND it chucked a fit.

So my full OUT OF SERVICE post has disappeared.

The Wrap Up

- I've been busy and out of service

- Halal and islam discrimination is really on the up since I left the online world last.  People seem to forget what happened when we banned live export.  We live in a world economy and our neighbours are Muslims.   Nobody gives a damn about Christian religion making money and not declaring what they do with it.  Not called a terrorist tax then.  Where are the facts, proof instead of propaganda and sensationalism????  Context would be great because it just seems like discrimination or being prejudice.

- Did you get rain?  Wet season has kicked in here so its time to catch up on sleep and a few books while the dams and waterholes fill up.  Might also have a holiday... see what its like in the big bad world.

Not much else to report.  Been too busy to take photos and I'm not that great at it so I tend to forget.

Later

PS Lee-Anne at Governess Australia is writing up a blog about how she lives healthy in the outback. Hoping she'll have it ready to post soon.

52 Ways To Organise Your House

AND DO I REALLY WANT TO is organise you

Found this link on facebook
www.buzzfeed.com/peggy/52-totally-feasible-ways-to-organize-your-entire-h

It was interesting to say the least.

MY THOUGHTS...

  1. Clever idea the rail but I'd be worried about the kids pulling knives off the magnets.
  2. All very well if you have a pantry but hard to do with little space.
  3. Do you have enough room to stand these up.  Mine are in a drawer
  4. Clever but I just put them upside down on the pot and stack the pots.  Saves chasing them around.
  5. I have an old shed gate which I would love to do in my own house.  DREAMS
  6. Kids would have a ball pulling those off.
  7. Just imagining cleaning them off after a dust storm.
  8. Now that is a doer if I had deep drawers... when I build the dream house i will ;)
  9. We use these in the coolroom.  ALREADY DONE
  10. AGAIN DONE - station pantries need to be organised
  11. Still remember the last basket collapsing.
  12. If only I had hanging closet space.  BUILD new house is on the list.
  13. AGAIN don't these people have dust.  Must add walk in wardrobe to dream house list
  14. OCD???? Anyone
  15. Thats if you put things back on the hanger or wear them straight off
  16. DONE
  17. For all one belt -- cool
  18. Again my sunnies end up in a different car each time

Okay time to skip a few... some good ideas but not going to analyse all

24 and 25 is something I do not.  One room in my cottage has a magnetic wall and is turning into a great storage item.

34 that is a brilliant idea.  I'm always chasing cleaner.  Although these days I am cutting chemicals out more and more and going back to simple cleaners

35 - in the bush this equates to good, jeans and socks, tops and jocks

46  and 48 - must do as they drive me nuts

5 and 52 - They must have seen my schoolroom

HONEY and CINNAMON

HONEY & CINNAMON
Great information!! Cinnamon and Honey...! Drug companies won't like this one getting around. Facts on Honey and Cinnamon:
It is found that a mix of honey and cinnamon cures most diseases. Honey is produced in most of the countries of the world. Scientists of today also note honey as very effective medicine for all kinds of diseases. Honey can be used without side effects which is also a plus. Today's science says that even though honey is sweet, when it is taken in the right dosage as a medicine, it does not harm even diabetic patients. Researched by western scientists:
HEART DISEASES: Make a paste of honey and cinnamon powder, put it on toast instead of jelly and jam and eat it regularly for breakfast. It reduces the cholesterol and could potentially save one from heart attack. Also, even if you have already had an attack studies show you could be kept miles away from the next attack. Regular use of cinnamon honey strengthens the heart beat. In America and Canada, various nursing homes have treated patients successfully and have found that as one ages the arteries and veins lose their flexibility and get clogged; honey and cinnamon revitalize the arteries and the veins.
ARTHRITIS: Arthritis patients can benefit by taking one cup of hot water with two tablespoons of honey and one small teaspoon of cinnamon powder. When taken daily even chronic arthritis can be cured. In a recent research conducted at the Copenhagen University, it was found that when the doctors treated their patients with a mixture of one tablespoon Honey and half teaspoon Cinnamon powder before breakfast, they found that within a week (out of the 200 people so treated) practically 73 patients were totally relieved of pain -- and within a month, most all the patients who could not walk or move around because of arthritis now started walking without pain.
BLADDER INFECTIONS: Take two tablespoons of cinnamon powder and one teaspoon of honey in a glass of lukewarm water and drink it. It destroys the germs in the bladder....who knew?
CHOLESTEROL: Two tablespoons of honey and three teaspoons of Cinnamon Powder mixed in 16 ounces of tea water given to a cholesterol patient was found to reduce the level of cholesterol in the blood by 10 percent within two hours. As mentioned for arthritic patients, when taken three times a day, any chronic cholesterol-could be cured. According to information received in the said Journal, pure honey taken with food daily relieves complaints of cholesterol.
COLDS: Those suffering from common or severe colds should take one tablespoon lukewarm honey with 1/4 spoon cinnamon powder daily for three days. This process will cure most chronic cough, cold, and, clear the sinuses, and it's delicious too!
UPSET STOMACH: Honey taken with cinnamon powder cures stomach ache and also is said to clear stomach ulcers from its root.
GAS: According to the studies done in India and Japan, it is revealed that when Honey is taken with cinnamon powder the stomach is relieved of gas.
IMMUNE SYSTEM: Daily use of honey and cinnamon powder strengthens the immune system and protects the body from bacterial and viral attacks. Scientists have found that honey has various vitamins and iron in large amounts. Constant use of Honey strengthens the white blood corpuscles (where DNA is contained) to fight bacterial and viral diseases.
INDIGESTION: Cinnamon powder sprinkled on two tablespoons of honey taken before food is eaten relieves acidity and digests the heaviest of meals
INFLUENZA: A scientist in Spain has proved that honey contains a natural 'Ingredient' which kills the influenza germs and saves the patient from flu.
LONGEVITY: Tea made with honey and cinnamon powder, when taken regularly, arrests the ravages of old age. Use four teaspoons of honey, one teaspoon of cinnamon powder, and three cups of boiling water to make a tea. Drink 1/4 cup, three to four times a day. It keeps the skin fresh and soft and arrests old age. Life spans increase and even a 100 year old will start performing the chores of a 20-year-old.
RASPY OR SORE THROAT: When throat has a tickle or is raspy, take one tablespoon of honey and sip until gone. Repeat every three hours until throat is without symptoms.
PIMPLES: Three tablespoons of honey and one teaspoon of cinnamon powder paste. Apply this paste on the pimples before sleeping and wash it off the next morning with warm water. When done daily for two weeks, it removes all pimples from the root.
SKIN INFECTIONS:Applying honey and cinnamon powder in equal parts on the affected parts cures eczema, ringworm and all types of skin Infections.
WEIGHT LOSS:Daily in the morning one half hour before breakfast and on an empty stomach, and at night before sleeping, drink 1 tsp honey and 1/2 tsp cinnamon powder added to one cup of hot/warm water. When taken regularly, it reduces the weight of even the most obese person. Also, drinking this mixture regularly does not allow the fat to accumulate in the body even though the person may eat a high calorie diet.
CANCER: Recent research in Japan and Australia has revealed that advanced cancer of the stomach and bones have been cured successfully. Patients suffering from these kinds of cancer should daily take one tablespoon of honey with one teaspoon of cinnamon powder three times a day for one month.
FATIGUE: Recent studies have shown that the sugar content of honey is more helpful rather than being detrimental to the strength of the body. Senior citizens who take honey and cinnamon powder in equal parts are more alert and flexible. Dr. Milton, who has done research, says that a half tablespoon of honey taken in a glass of water and sprinkled with cinnamon powder, even when the vitality of the body starts to decrease, when taken daily after brushing and in the afternoon at about 3:00 P.M., the vitality of the body increases within a week.
BAD BREATH: People of South America, gargle with one teaspoon of honey and cinnamon powder mixed in hot water first thing in the morning so their breath stays fresh throughout the day.
HEARING LOSS: Daily morning and night honey and cinnamon powder, taken in equal parts restores hearing.
THE HONEY NEEDS TO BE A LOCAL RAW HONEY NOT STORE BOUGHT. CINNAMON NEEDS TO BE PURE CINNAMON

CWA of NSW to help rural families affected by drought

MEDIA RELEASE

12 FEBRUARY 2014

CWA of NSW to help rural families affected by drought

The Country Women’s Association (CWA) of NSW today donated $50,000 to help families in NSW affected by the current drought.

“We have called on politicians and leaders to respond quickly and generously to help those families suffering in this drought,” said CWA of NSW President, Tanya Cameron. “The current conditions are devastating and escalating dramatically, and we are pleased to see that this has now been acknowledged and addressed with the Deputy Premier, Andrew Stoner and Minister for Primary Industries, Katrina Hodgkinson today announcing an expansion of a temporary financial package of emergency in-drought measures”.

“Just last week, the CWA of NSW joined with the CWA of QLD to write to the Prime Minister asking him and the Treasurer to visit drought affected areas to gain a better understanding of the situation. We are pleased to see that the NSW government has now stepped up their relief package.

“In the meantime, I hope our financial contribution will assist to take some immediate financial pressure off some families.”

The CWA of NSW donation has been given to the Rural Financial Counselling Service who is currently experiencing a great increase in requests for assistance. Local counsellors will identify families in rural NSW who need support and provide them will a financial ‘gift’ from the CWA of NSW to be used to assist with essential expenses.

“Our members know only too well the difficulties of trying to keep a farm and a family going in a drought and so they were keen to help,” said Tanya.  “We know that farmers prepared better than ever for this drought but no one could have foreseen just how long it would last.”

The CWA is the largest women’s organisation in Australia and aims to improve conditions for country women and children. There are currently 10,000 members in NSW belonging to 395 branches across the state.

The CWA of NSW operates a Disaster Relief Fund to assist people in need and donations to this fund can be made via www.cwaofnsw.org.au/donate

Diary Entry ... loving a good old email joke

A WOMAN'S WEEK AT THE GYM

If you read this without laughing out loud, there is something wrong with you. This is dedicated to everyone who ever attempted to get into a regular workout routine

Dear Diary,
For my birthday this year, I purchased a week of personal training at the local health club. Although I am still in great shape since being a high school football cheerleader 43 years ago, I decided it would be a good idea to go ahead and give it a try.

I called the club and made my reservations with a personal trainer named Christo, who identified himself as a 26-year-old aerobics instructor and model for athletic clothing and swim wear.

Friends seemed pleased with my enthusiasm to get started! The club encouraged me to keep a diary to chart my progress.
________________________________
MONDAY:
Started my day at 6:00 am. Tough to get out of bed, but found it was well worth it when I arrived at the health club to find Christo waiting for me. He is something of a Greek god-- with blond hair, dancing eyes, and a dazzling white smile. Woo Hoo!!

Christo gave me a tour and showed me the machines... I enjoyed watching the skillful way in which he conducted his aerobics class after my workout today. Very inspiring!

Christo was encouraging as I did my sit-ups, although my gut was already aching from holding it in the whole time he was around.

This is going to be a FANTASTIC week!!
________________________________
TUESDAY:
I drank a whole pot of coffee, but I finally made it out the door. Christo made me lie on my back and push a heavy iron bar into the air then he put weights on it! My legs were a little wobbly on the treadmill, but I made the full mile. His rewarding smile made it all worthwhile. I feel GREAT! It's a whole new life for me.
_______________________________
WEDNESDAY:
The only way I can brush my teeth is by laying the toothbrush on the counter and moving my mouth back and forth over it. I believe I have a hernia in both pectorals. Driving was OK as long as I didn't try to steer or stop. I parked on top of a GEO in the club parking lot.
Christo was impatient with me, insisting that my screams bothered other club members. His voice is a little too perky for that early in the morning and when he scolds, he gets this nasally whine that is VERY annoying.
My chest hurt when I got on the treadmill, so Christo put me on the stair monster. Why the hell would anyone invent a machine to simulate an activity rendered obsolete by elevators? Christo told me it would help me get in shape and enjoy life. He said some other shit too.
_______________________________
THURSDAY:
Asshole was waiting for me with his vampire-like teeth exposed as his thin, cruel lips were pulled back in a full snarl. I couldn't help being a half an hour late-- it took me that long to tie my shoes.
He took me to work out with dumbbells. When he was not looking, I ran and hid in the restroom. He sent some skinny bitch to find me.
Then, as punishment, he put me on the rowing machine-- which I sank.
_________________________________
FRIDAY:
I hate that bastard Christo more than any human being has ever hated any other human being in the history of the world. Stupid, skinny, anaemic, anorexic, little aerobic instructor. If there was a part of my body I could move without unbearable pain, I would beat him with it.
Christo wanted me to work on my triceps. I don't have any triceps! And if you don't want dents in the floor, don't hand me the damn barbells or anything that weighs more than a sandwich.
The treadmill flung me off and I landed on a health and nutrition teacher. Why couldn't it have been someone softer, like the drama coach or the choir director?
________________________________
SATURDAY:
Satan left a message on my answering machine in his grating, shrilly voice wondering why I did not show up today. Just hearing his voice made me want to smash the machine with my planner; however, I lacked the strength to even use the TV remote and ended up catching eleven straight hours of the Weather Channel..
________________________________
SUNDAY:
I'm having the Church van pick me up for services today so I can go and thank GOD that this week is over. I will also pray that next year my husband will choose a gift for me that is fun-- like a root canal or a hysterectomy. I still say if God had wanted me to bend over, he would have sprinkled the floor with diamonds!!!

Send this to a friend who needs to laugh. We all need a good laugh

13 Things To Remember When Sitting In The Middle Of NOWHERE

Read Each One Carefully and Think About It a Second or Two

1. I love you not because of who you are, but because of who I am when I am with you..

2. No man or woman is worth your tears, and the one who is, won't make you cry.

3. Just because someone doesn't love you the way you want them to, doesn't mean they don't love you with all they have.

6. Never frown, even when you are sad, because you never know who is falling in love with your smile.

7. To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world.

8. Don't waste your time on a man/woman, who isn't willing to waste their time on you.

9. Maybe we are suppose to meet a few wrong people before meeting the right one, so that when we finally meet the person, we will know how to be grateful.

10. Don't cry because it is over, smile because it happened.

11. There's always going to be people that hurt you so what you have to do is keep on trusting and just be more careful about who you trust next time around.

12. Make yourself a better person and know who you are before you try and know someone else and expect them to know you.

13. Don't try so hard, the best things come when you! least expect them to.

Friendship isn't about whom you have known the longest...

I have been offline for most of August for one reason or another ... with some help from picmonkey I have started making my own memes using gorgeous outback pictures from my own stack and my friends.  Been adding some of my favourite quotes.

It is very theraputic when I'm feeling stressed :)

How is your month?  Got any great events coming up?

I have recently caught up with a whole lot of mates and loved it.  The quote above reminds of them and to keep those you want in your life close.

FRIENDSHIP requires effort and is a a two way street.  Always try to give more than you get.

New mobile/driving rules came into effect 1 Nov 2012

I was emailed this at the end of last year from a NSW site I am subscribed too.  I live in ignorances of lots of law changes.  It was an interesting read.

With the holiday season approaching it is good to be reminded that there are new mobile phone rules for drivers:

Key changes include:

绊 Drivers are not permitted to hold a phone in their hand, other than to pass it to a passenger, and cannot rest the phone on their leg or between their shoulder and ear.

绊 Phones or GPS devices must be mounted in a commercially designed cradle and affixed to the vehicle in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. Use of Bluetooth is permitted, as
long as the phone is not being held against the body.

绊 Drivers are only permitted to use hand held mobile phone when the vehicle is legally parked and/or off the road with the engine switched off.

绊 Penalties of up to 4 demerit points and $397 apply for failure to adhere to these rules.
Safe travelling and remember to take breaks!

Sloppy Joes and the UNexpected

Lately there has been a LOT of food on my blog.
(JUST IN CASE YOUR DIDN'T NOTICE THE OVERLOAD)

I have been doing some cooking between/and governessing on a station.  Sometimes when you go to a job things can happen that can rock you employers world.   Unexpected.  As a govie you sometimes just have to step in and do what's necessary.

I love my job and when the people around me need help due to the unexpected thats what I do.

As a result of all this I have travelled a fair bit, school has had to be condensed back to important activities (THANKS to great teachers for giving us help with this).

SO as most will know I have begged, borrowed and stolen most of my recipes from friends cooking and from station cooks.  LOVEM' All for the contributions.  Particularly Lee-Anne and Ange who have contributed the most

Mulgaria Sloppy Joes

2lbs Mince
1 onion
¼ teaspoon pepper
